Snake River Chilly days over the past week and a half means that the best action has been from approximately noon until around 4:30pm with the sweet spot occurring from around 1pm until 3pm. Full on Winter Fishing Mode
Snake River Surface action has been hit or miss, but when it is occurring the time period has been from around 1pm to 4pm with ledge rock pools and backwater pools and eddies fishing best. Midge emergers are producing better than adult counterparts, although both are worth fishing. Nymph rigs are producing in the same water as well as in riffle pools, riffle current margins, and seams. Roe patterns continue to work in riffles as the whitefish spawn enters its final phase.
